History of Design_Week 6, 7 & 8

For the assignment, the class was divided into groups each with different groups. My group covered The history of Music Album Art. The work for the project was divided individually, each member received a time period for which they has study the album are of various artist.

In 1938 Alex Stienweiss created the idea of custom artwork on record album covers and designed the first covers with original design, replacing the existing cardboard inslip which simply said the name of the album plus a stamp on the front of the record with the artist name. His covers all seem to bevery abstract pieces of work with much colour used tomake it as eye catching aspossible. The font and size of the font varies in each of the covers giving all of them there own uniqueness.

I chose the time period from 1980 to 1989.

Gathering fronts of the 80s mirrored the great and hyper beautiful of the decade itself. Gathering covers, generally speaking, are planned to be a visual reinforcement to the music contained inside. So to speak, these strong visual enunciations fill in as the perfect appearance of the electro-pop blustering of the decade. From garish portrayals to sharp-cornered arrangement in neon shaded grandness, the best gathering fronts of the 80s run the degree of the season of wealth.

As the 80s meant a substitute course for well known music, a long way from the staggering guitar-centered shake of the 70s and towards a synthesizer – driven advancement of funk and disco, the gathering fronts of the 80s took a similar turn. The gathering workmanship addressed this move delightfully, with direct pop craftsmanship style photos of the band people in splendid tints.

This is the research for 1980’s Album covers from various Artist.
